Coaching Mums

As a busy mum, if there are any areas of your life that you would love to improve, but can't quite see a way to do that yet, then coaching is for you!

So they say that the role of a mother is the equivalent to having 2.5 full time jobs.  (There was a study by actual scientists!)  Throw a global pandemic into the mix and it’s no wonder mums all over the world are feeling the pressure.  Whether you have 1 or 10 kids, whether you stay at home or juggle other work around your life as a mum, there is no contest; being responsible for raising small people is undoubtedly one of the toughest gigs in the world.

There’s a saying (adapted from the Dalai Lama I believe): raising children is about “giving them wings to fly and a safe place to land”.  This has always stuck with me and become something of a mantra as I’m Mumming Around.  I constantly ask myself what I can do to make myself that safe place for my girls.  I often answer it with another question (I am a coach after all!): how can I be that “safe place” if I'm not consistently living as the best version of myself?  I can’t.  In order to be a mum to the best of my ability I must first ensure I am taking care of my physical, mental and emotional well-being.  For me, it’s about showing up as best I can in all the areas of my life that are important to me.

Mumming Around might just be the most indefinable thing in the world.  For some mums it’s all about emotional well-being, for others academic achievement.  Some mums thrive on a cram packed schedule focused on the kids, while for others it’s about working to preserve that little bit of themselves from the distant memory BK (Before Kids!). In fact, there is only one universal thing that we can safely say defines all Mumming Around – we all do it differently and there’s no right or wrong; only what works for you.

However you Mum Around, coaching can help you hone in on what's important to you, whether it's checking in on your parenting style, your relationship with your kids, your relationship with your partner, sibling harmony, the family’s physical and emotional well-being, managing the weekly schedule, dealing with a pandemic, your patience levels, housework and admin, your work/life balance, your energy levels, juggling childcare, your daily routine, school, screen/internet time, finding the balance, trusting your instincts – the list is endless.

I’d love to make a start on some of it with you and help you be the best version of yourself, both for you and for your Mumming Around.
